What ages can participate in the camp?

Our camp is open to kids ages 7-18. We group players by age and skill level to ensure a fun and engaging experience for everyone. For kids under seven please contact Coach Nevolo at JNevolo@smu.edu.

Where is the camp located?
-
The camp takes place at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the corner of 75 and Mockingbird road. Our parking lot is behind the building.

How does drop-off and pick-up work?
-
Drop-off: Please arrive by 9 am. Coaches will be available to check in your child at the main entrance behind the complex. We will have counselors waiting for them outside.

Pick-up: Full-day and half-day campers should be picked up promptly at 4 pm for full day and 12 pm for half day. If someone other than a parent/guardian is picking up your child, please notify us in advance.

What are the camp hours?

We offer both half-day and full-day options:

Half-day camp: 9 am - 12pm

Full-day camp: 9 am - 4 pm

Will my child only play tennis the entire time?
-
While tennis is the main focus, we incorporate fun, age-appropriate activities to keep kids engaged. This includes coordination games, team-building exercises, and other sports-related activities to improve agility and movement. For full-day campers, there will also be snack breaks, lunch, and some downtime to recharge.

What should my child bring to camp?

Please have your child bring:

A tennis racket

Athletic shoes with non-marking soles

A change of comfortable athletic clothing

Full day campers must bring their own lunch and snack. Half day campers should bring a snack.

What if my child has never played tennis before?

No problem! Our camp welcomes beginners and experienced players alike. Our coaches tailor instruction to each child’s skill level to ensure they learn and have fun.

Is lunch provided?

No, please pack a lunch and snacks for your child. We will have water stations for refills throughout the day.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Bad weather? No problem! Our complex has six indoor courts!

Who are the coaches?

Our camp is led by experienced and certified tennis coaches from the SMU Women’s Tennis Program.

Can parents stay and watch?

For the best learning experience, we encourage kids to focus on their instruction without distractions. Parents are welcome to watch the last 10 minutes of camp each day.
